Health Care Regulatory Practice
Regulation of health insurers, including traditional insurance companies, health maintenance organizations (HMOs), preferred provider organizations (PPOs), point of service plans (POS), high deductible health plans (HDHPs), managed care organizations (MCOs) and other forms of health insurance delivery, is an area that is increasingly complex, particularly in light of recently enacted federal health care legislation. Our attorneys have worked closely with state regulators to enforce state requirements for health care insurance organizations. Regulatory compliance in areas such as timely claim payments, proper underwriting guidelines, appropriate cancellation policies, pricing and delivery, policy forms, credentialing, reserves, financial reporting, and other key areas of operations, require complex skills and understanding, which the firm can deliver.
