The laws governing the maritime industry are complex and require attorneys with unwavering commitment and unique expertise. Our attorneys have substantial knowledge and experience enabling them to effectively represent maritime entities including towboat operators, dredge companies, diving contractors, drilling contractors, oil field service and supply companies, marinas, recreational vessel owners, commercial vessel operators and freight forwarders. We have successfully defended Jones Act and other maritime claims in the state courts of Louisiana and federal courts of Louisiana and Texas, as well as at United States Coast Guard administrative hearings and Federal Maritime Commission hearings.
Our practice chair, Christopher Tankersley, has a deep understanding of the issues facing maritime entities having served in the Office of General Counsel for the U.S. Maritime Administration and as Deputy General Counsel for an international shipping company prior to joining the firm. Mr. Tankersley leads a team of experienced maritime lawyers capable of effectively handling all types of maritime issues for our clients.
